Hypnotherapy and Hypnocoaching has the power to give you space in your life to resource yourself under stressful periods in your life, as well as looking into deeper patterns that run in your family lineage and beyond.
If you find yourself being in a place in life where you don’t have time to go into what seems to be a lengthy talk therapy process, hypnospace sessions can be an incredible resources to show results in just a few sessions. While we are able to see results fast, it does not lack depth. We simply go to the heart of the matter in a safe and efficient way, bringing much integration in place.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation and heightened awareness that allows you to access the power of your subconscious mind. When hypnosis is applied in a therapeutic setting, we can adress deeply seated layers and patterns that cause disruption, integrate and transform the disruption into freed up life energy and life force.
During a hypnosis session, your conscious mind is temporarily bypassed, allowing your subconscious to take over and make positive changes from within.
Some of the benefits of hypnosis include:
Overcoming bad habits: Hypnosis can help you break free from habits that are holding you back, such as smoking, snus, overeating, overusing social media, procrastination.
Reducing fear, stress and anxiety: By accessing the subconscious mind, hypnosis can help you become aware of what drives the fear, stress and anxiety and manage the symptoms in a healthy and natural way.
Sleep improvement and insomnia treatment: Our sleep program can support you in accessing more relaxation and achieving a deep, restful sleep,. This will allow you to wake up feeling refreshed and energized.
Strengthen your confidence: Hypnotherapy can help you access inner resources to feel more confident and strong in many areas of life.
Phobias and Fears: Fear of spiders, closed, small spaces, heights, public speaking, social engagements, bacteria - the list of phobias can be long. By working through your fears and phobias with the help of hypnosis, you can overcome your fears and live a more confident, fulfilling life without painful restrictions.
Performance Enhancement: Through accessing more inner resources you can boost creativity and break through inner barriers and feelings of being stuck.
Depending on the type of hypnosis and the intention you have, we can also work on addressing deeply seated ancestral trauma and other dysfunctions we were born into, and therefor perceive as ‘normal’(i.e cultural and spiritual trauma).
What will I experience?
The process itself is like a guided meditation from a deeply relaxed state that I configure along the way depending on what you respond and where the process leads us. You are always in control, in the driver’s seat.
As for what you will experience - there is no way we can know! If i ask ten different people to visualise and describe apple, we will get ten different versions of an apple. And this is the beauty with the work.
We approach the process with a lot of curiosity and acceptance of whatever comes up. We work with all your senses, including what you perceive with inner visual, audio or other subtle energy sensations. The images, smells, sounds or sensations with attached symbolism is not what’s important. It’s the energy in which these images are charged with that matters. In other words, don’t by into the narrative of what you see, because it won’t always make any sense. When we really listen carefully to all that arises we can really allow the process to do the work, and our inherent healing capacities to flourish.
A few words I have heard over the years has been ‘unexpected’, ‘incredible ‘mind blowing’, ‘incredibly deep’, ‘like opening a door’, ‘life changing’. For myself I find hypnotherapy to be wild, fun, adventurous, alive and humbling - like no other therapy experience I’ve ever had.
What will I feel like afterwards?
Many times people have no words right afterwards, which is completely in it’s place, as we have been working deeply in the body and subconsious. And we often need time to just be, without pushing ourselves to go back to the thinking mind too quickly. I encourage people to go for a walk and just be in silence, off their devices and not plan anything right after deep session, to help the nervous system reorganise itself before heading back into their day to day life.
How is this experience different from plant medicine?
Quite a few people have compared the effects of this work and the experience itself to that of taking plant medicine. The difference is that instead of sourcing and accessing states through plant medicine, we together create a resonance body where you enter a so called transpersonal state were you can harness the wisdom and intelligence of your energy/soul to receive transmissions, integrations and so called ‘downloads’. My job is to facilitate this process in a safe and titrated way. This way we don’t override your own system’s safety structures or over expanding your energy body, creating temporary state experiences that can have a negative effect on you once your energy body ‘skrinks’ back to it’s regular size, which can have some people feeling raw, ‘too open’, fragile etc coming out of the experience. Instead we build up your capacity to integrate and receive information in a safe way and build your embodiment and grow your capacity over time.
How many sessions will I need?
I recommend a package of 6 sessions to really work through a specific topic you are dealing with, which is an amount that many see results from. For others 3 sessions is enough and others want to continue with an additional 6-12 sessions. For In Between Therapy some will experience results from one single 2 hour session.
Common Hypnosis myths
Myth number 1: You loose control
One of the most persistent myths is that individuals under hypnosis lose control of their actions and are at the mercy of the hypnotist. In reality, hypnosis in a therapeutic setting is incredibly safe and you are always in control. When accessing the subconscious mind, you are completely aware of what is happening. We don’t retrieve any information you are not comfortable with sharing. You are in the driver’s seat at all times. Therefor, you do not loose control at all and you can never be forced to do or share something against your will.
Myth number 2: Hypnosis Is Sleep:
Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility, but you are not asleep. Guided to a state of deep relaxation, you are relaxed but fully aware of your surroundings.
Myth number 3: Hypnosis Is a magical or supernatural Power:
Hypnosis a natural state we can access at any time. Daydreaming is a form of hypnotic state. Dancing, doing art or meditating can be a hypnotic experience. It is a psychological phenomenon with a basis in neurobiology. It is a natural state of relaxed, focused attention and heightened suggestibility. Not a psychedelic experience.
Myth number 4: Hypnosis Can Reveal Hidden Truths:
There is a misconception that hypnosis can be used to uncover deep, hidden truths or memories. Research suggests that memories retrieved under hypnosis can be unreliable and influenced by suggestion. The most important factors we work with in regards to described situations and memories are not to find out the storyline, but uncover the energetic and emotional charges that present themselves, and integrating these.
Myth number 5: Instant and Permanent Change:
While hypnosis is an incredibly powerful tool for many behavioural changes and creating inner resources, it is not going to change lifecirmstances, like the fact that you have an abusive manager, or have lost a cherished family member, or are facing a divorce. For situations like this we recommend a combination of Hypnotherapy, NARM and other interventions to support you. Please visit www.ctisab.com to learn more about NARM or book one of our licensed psychotherapists.
For people looking to use hypnotherapy to treat C-PTSD we recommend a combination of Hypnotherapy and NARM’’ This can help you make new decisions in your life that supports big change to happen as well as healing the underlying states that drives the unwanted behaviours.
Myth number 6: Everyone Responds the Same Way to Hypnosis:
People vary in their susceptibility to hypnosis. What works for one person may not work for another, and individuals experience hypnosis in different ways. This is why we have an integral approach to healing that includes the body, mind and soul. How we viceraly process information is very individual, which is why we work with as many ways vestibular and proprioception
Myth number 7: Hypnosis Can Cure Everything:
While hypnosis can be beneficial for certain issues, it is not a cure-all. It is most effective for certain conditions, such as managing pain, reducing stress, and assisting with behavioral changes, but it may not be suitable for every individual or issue.
‘It's important to approach hypnosis with an understanding based on scientific research and avoid falling prey to sensationalized portrayals in the media.’
When is Hypnosis not appropriate?
Although we are primarily trans-diciplinary and use a mix of many modalities, there are cases where conventional, clinical western medicine is the way to go, and alternative methods are not.
We do not offer hypnotherapy to people undergoing psychiatric treatments with heavy medication or who suffer from severe neurological disorders such as schizophrenia or ongoing psychosis. In cases of you who have have had recent strong, negative state experiences we recommend booking one of our regular therapy sessions for integration.
We take safety seriously and do not treat anyone who we assess would benefit better from receiving help from a psychiatrist or other medical or specialised mental health practitioner.
If you have untreated C-PTSD or fullfil all criteria for clinical C-PTSD (you can read what the criteria are here) we highly recommend you seek medical care in addition to booking any sessions with us. We always do a case by case assessment wether or not our services are appropriate or not.
In case of a psychiatric emergency, please call 112 for immediate medical help.
